Somewhere in Accra – EP 05

Badu Lounge was love at first sight. I first came across this music and lifestyle lounge because of my friend Tasia who organizes a monthly music and fashion event there. Located in the Labone, just down the road from Chase (now closed).

From the outside, the lounge looks like a cubic wooden and glass container. The outdoor sitting area introduces you to the character of the lounge with graffiti paintings of Erykah Badu, a huge inspiration behind the lounge. With a nice green and colorful tone , wooden tables and chairs gave the environment a natural garden vibe.

When you step through the doors, you’re transported into an eccentric and sultry room with white drapes on your left concealing a private area, a bar and a sitting area so diverse and full of life. The framed pictures hanging on the wall, to the chain curtain and a variety of sitting areas, this is not a place you’ll get over anytime soon. Another favorite, apart from their Chapman, is the stage area. With a wall covered in vinyl, a wooden platform and red lights, you can imagine how lit the live band sessions are.
